Gettin' hosed

What's with the wind? You'd think I lived in Florida or something...oh wait, I do. :o( I guess I picked the wrong (windy) season to start helicopter training. So far my first two flights have been cancelled due to high and gusty winds. Helicopters can fly in the winds, no problem...it's just training in windy conditions is not ideal. It's like being on student status again...sitting on my ass watching all the up jumpers jump. Oh well, maybe today will be better.

Hey Sandy, congrats on the living out your dream thing. I've always wanted to add on a chopper rating myself, but never had the time/money. One day when I win the Powerball, though....

I'm glad to see you are trying to get your lessons close together. I can tell you for a fact that keeping the lessons close together will definitely save you a ton of money if you carry it through to your checkride. Two a week is good, if you can swing it.

Also -- here's another money saver if you are thinking about advanced ratings. Knock out some hours in a plane. It's much cheaper and it counts toward your chopper time too. You could end up with commercial and instrument ratings in both for basically the same price as just getting them in a whirlybird.

Keep after it -- the book stuff can be daunting, but feel free to shoot me an email if you need a hand. Of course, my knowledge is 99% airplane, but I know a little about copters too.
